Well, I love "The Little Mermaid" movie

That was one of the first full feature movies I took our kids to, so many years ago.  They sat enthralled, I just loved the music and the animation.  We received Northcott "Coral Reef" this week, and the only song that has been stuck in my head now is "Under the Sea".  I guess it's better than "It's a Small World After All".

I wanted to use some vintage fabric/scraps and try my hand at some traditional quilting designs. Its easy of a period of time. When you get enough... just sew them together. Tada!  - R

Meet Amber

It's all about the signs...

Do you know what a barn quilt is? they were more prevalent in the mid-west, but now barn quilts are making their way across the nation - While technically not a sign, it is a well known beacon to quilters and sewists everywhere there are fabric and notions nearby. We have a few on our building....

And the Big News?! We will be putting up a 6x6' sign on the South side facing the train depot. All of the designs have names. This particular one is the Colorado Star. Come by and see what you think -

 

 

The Latest T-Shirt Quilt - Sports Theme

A very proud mother wanted to present her graduating daughter with a memorable quilt of t-shirts she wore during her high school years. I think it turned out very well. If you look close enough, you'll see the quilting is of meandering soccer balls. Marissa of First Stitches is helping me with the Front Porch Pic.

 

 

This was still hot when it came in.

Unfortunately, this Bernina motor burned up - not quite on fire - but could have easily been the catalyst to a far worse scenario. When the customer brought the machine in, the housing was warm to the touch and when I pulled it apart, I had a hard time holding it because it was still hot. The problem is two-fold. Am I able to find the parts? and at what cost? The customer would like to resurrect the machine in working order, but as it was purchased in the mid 70s and has sentimental value. The motor will be expensive plus any other issues I may find along the way. I will do my research and hopefully have good news for the owner.
