A Thread-aholic in Colorado

I hate being teased!

In the past few weeks, Colorado has provided some beautiful warm, spring-time weather. If the temps are in the 60's, it's very hard to keep me at the quilt shop. And what makes it even harder, is the fact that we are next door to a very busy gas station.  So when I'm at my desk, and I hear the "rumble" I have to go and look to see what make and model motorcycle is filling up with gas.

Then I have to tell myself to get back to work and quit thinking about riding. So today was a beautiful sunny day, however, 40 degrees was too cold to ride. So downstairs I went, quilted 2 quilt tops, and watched re-runs of Law and Order.

Spring is coming, and my time spent behind the long-arm will soon turn to time on my HD Freewheeler.  In prep for a busy year of riding, I used the Baby Lock Destiny to position and stitch these pretty roses on my tank bra.  So bring on the warmth... I'm ready to ride!

I love lollipops...

...so when PJ made these fun Cheryl Phillips' Bargello ReWound quilts, it made my mouth water. They remind me of those really huge lollipops that we'd get and would take all day to finally consume it all. Hmmm, I
need to find a candy store soon, I think...

 

3:14am is when I finally got out of bed...

I awoke at 2:30am, but the stubborn part of me truly believed I would fall back to sleep.  Nope.  So at 3:14am, I got up, made my coffee, and ventured downstairs to the basement. There, I flipped a few switches and lit up my wonderful world comprised of sewing machines, sergers, embroidery machines, and my most favorite of all my toys: My Crown Jewel.

So by the time I had to get dressed to come to work, I had successfully quilted another quilt. Ka-ching. Mark that one off my list.  Sometimes it's OK to just get out of bed when you're laying there awake in the middle of the night.
