Just a preview of things to come...

2015 is going to be a blast!

In January, we have a full array of classes getting started, including a couple block of the months, Anita Goodesign Workshops, Serger Club AND Sewing Al Fresco, where you can come and learn new uses for your feet and sewing accessories, plus great inspiration from samples that will certainly get you thinking outside your box.

April is National Serger Month and guess what!  Yep, we're hosting a Sue GB Serger Retreat.  3 days of learning everything you've ever wanted to know about sergers.  Whether you've never serger before, or you're a veteran at serging, you will learn more than you could have ever expected.

AND, we'll also be at the Pueblo Quilt Expo in April. Our first outside the store event.

 

And then next year, we'll be joining hundreds of other quilt shops around the country in the 2015 Row by Row Experience.  More details about that coming soon.

 

All in all, 2015 is going to be fast, furious, and fun. And my goal, by the end of the year, is to have helped in making more of you confident in your sewing, happy in your hobby, and more knowledgeable in your skill.

A little serging, a little merging... and then a banner.

There are some people I just plain admire. Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company is one of them. Wow, what a story. I got to meet her at Baby Lock Tech in August, and she is just a bundle of positive energy. You need to take the time to peruse her website and read about how she transformed her rural community into a quilter's destination.

With that being said, I watched Jenny's video on making fast fabric banners. And by golly, I told Amanda we were doing a quickie project.  I didn't tell Amanda what we were going to make, but she had to do a little bit of cutting and I handed her 10 different bolts of Christmas fabric and told her to cut 10" squares from each one.

Literally, after 30+ minutes we were hanging the new Christmas fabric banners made from Kaye England's Back Porch Prints by Wilmington Prints.  We "cheated" a little and used a Baby Lock serger to do the sewing... we're just a little spoiled with the serger!

All in all, it was a great Monday afternoon at the store.
