Sometimes Randy can be very smart

So here I am at 2014 Baby Lock Tech!  The first time as an authorized Baby Lock dealer. I've already seen Mary Mulari and we saw the name tags for Eleanor Burns and Nancy Zieman. Cool huh?

And then there are all the other Baby Lock dealers who have been doing this for 10-20-30 years.  I tell Randy, "geez, these guys have been doing this for so long, and I'm such a newbie at all this."

And he says to me, "Don't worry about how long they've been dealers, and how big their dealerships are. You need to focus on our customers and the Cañon City area and take care of their needs.  Being here at Baby Lock Tech will help you learn how to do that."

Well, like I said.  Sometimes the guy is just plain smart.

No, it's not considered being unfaithful.

I'm a quilter.  I love quilting.  I dream of quilt patterns, matching points, perfect 1/4" seams, and hand binding. I simply love quilting.

However... I have also fallen in love with serging. 

It opens up a whole new world with rolled edges, wave stitches, and flatlocking.

There was a time when I scoffed at the thought of EVER using a serger.Mostly because people who serged, had to be professionals, who did clothes for others.

But I have since changed my tune.  My first serger is still my most favorite:  The Enlighten by Baby Lock. I can thread that wonderful machine in less than a minute.  And that's the way it is with all the Baby Lock sergers with the 'jet-air' threading system (the Imagine, Enlighten, Evolution, and the Ovation).

Threading is no long an issue with the Baby Lock sergers.

We're having a mini-serger event in which you will be able to sit down behind a serger and try it out.  OR you can bring your own.  Our goal is to just get you serging and start discovering the possibilities.

I will be the first to admit...

I was not that thrilled with the new line we got in recently, #Indigo by Moda. Faded blues and washed browns didn't bring a real cheery smile to my face. But then I told myself, just because I'm not jumping up and down over it, somebody else just might.  

And of course, that turned out to be the case.  Cyndi loved it, and immediately created a beautiful quilt from the fabrics.  So now I love the fabric, too.  It's become one of my favorites in the store right now! The 'faded blues and washed browns' developed into deep blues and rich browns.

Isn't it funny how all it takes is someone to see something that you did not?

Officially, as of today, August 1st, we are an Authorized Baby Lock Dealer.

Yes, I have to admit, it's a little exciting, venturing into new territory, but from past experience, I have a deep respect for the entire Baby Lock line of sewing and embroidery machines. And I LOVE them.

I started my embroidery obsession with the Baby Lock Emore (it's now a discontinued model). I believe I stitched over 1.3 million stitches the first year I had her. Then I got brave and purchased a Baby Lock Enlighten, a jet-air threading serger that had me going "wow" everytime I used her. I became a serger nut. 

And then!!  I discovered how to use all kinds of threads in the serger loopers: Ricky Tims Razzle Dazzle, woolly thread, 12 wt, etc. etc.  Maybe that's where my thread addiction started.  Well, no it was probably the embroidery machines.  In any case, I just couldn't have enough thread.

And there you go: an admitted thread-a-holic.

But getting back to the Baby Lock. We start getting the new machines delivered today and will be continuing to get in our line over the next several weeks.

If ever you wanted to come and play on a serger, embroidery machine, or a quilting/sewing machine, now's a great time.

Trust me, you won't be the only one there playing on them.
