The journey of a thousand miles...

... always start with "The First Stitches".

We had our preliminary meeting this week for the Hoopsister's Jacobean Journey Embroidery Block of the Month. that is beginning in January.  What an exciting journey this is going to be.  If one looks at the whole picture, it can be a little overwhelming, but when broken down into the how to, when to, and why to's, it's going to be a very fun 10 months.

We still have 2 seats open in the Saturday class.  And it is not too late to get your materials together to join.  Call 719-285-8088 and reserve your seat.  Our first class is Saturday, Jan. 4th.

You have a variety of sizes to choose from, along with your choice of doing multiple fabrics or a whole cloth version.

We had some great entries for the character drawing my son did of me over Thanksgiving.  He decided on the winning caption and it was one submitted by Carol Hires.

Jacobean Journey – Starts in 1 month!

Marge has a good start on the Jacobean Journey samples for month 1, and I finally got started on mine today (thanks to all the snow). 

If you have an embroidery machine with a minimum of a 5 x 7 hoop, you can do this! We still have 2 openings in the Saturday session, and 1 opening in the Tuesday session.  This is a 10-month Embroidery Block of the Month, starting on January 4th. Each session meets once a month to receive the embroidery files and instructions. What an amazing quilt/embroidery project – simply beautiful!

The most favorite time of the year

Yes, of course it's Christmas, but it's also when I sit down and look at my unfinished projects.  I believe I now have 5.  One just needs binding, one needs quilting, one needs me to finish the mitered border, one needs some applique, and etc. etc.  The most I've ever had was 4.  So my mind has now shifted to "get er done" stage. But oh wait, here's another pattern I want to try out.... make this #6.
