What a great time! Miss Randi and I are still reeling from everything we took in during the last few days. In the next few weeks, be sure to stop by and see the "new" stuff coming in. Here a couple of new items...
The Beginning Quilt class is seeing good progress on their quilts. Next week is the final week. I can't wait to see the finished tops!
Shaylee is taking the Four Pointed Star Table Runner Class and is learning a vast new world using Karla Alexander's Spider Web ruler. Taught by Cyndi McChesney, the class learned how easy it is to use a specialized ruler to create a fun effect.

PJ Steffenson, a long-arm quilter, did a wonderful job at choosing the pattern and the thread for my king size bed quilt I've been working on for over a year now. Even the back is awesome! A friend suggested I make the binding from a combination of all the colors in the quilt, so I think I'm going to go that route. The quilt measures 115" x 115". Do you think this is going to take me a while? Good thing I love to bind (yes, I will hand bind it).
This month, the CCMQ Club Members started a block of the month. It's not too late to join in. They meet on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6pm at First Stitches. Trendy fabric and patterns and a good time with friends.
I'm so used to cutting small pieces, cutting on angles, matching points - if I'm lucky, stacking pieces into numerous piles, and putting them all back together. My biggest joy is watching the quilt come together and harmonize with each other. That's my thoughts on traditional quilting. Very rewarding and satisfying.
So this whole modern quilt movement has intriqued me. It's simplistic, clean, and I have to admit a tad bit fun. Here is my result of my modern quilt adventure.

The Fine Hand Quilting Class this afternoon was a little different. There were no humming of the sewing machines, just relaxed instructions from an excellent teacher, Jeanne McGee.
To promote this newly formed holiday, Randy and I took a beautiful Sunday drive with a few 'friends'.
This month's Pillow Pop seemed more like a puzzle. It was fun watching these come together!
