So I was asked this week, how the new Janome MC15000 handled metallic thread.  And I had to be honest and say I hadn't tried it yet.  Being tempted by the metallic thread on my shelf that kept calling me, I loaded it up and stitched away.  The MC15000 gave me a perfect stitch out. 

And I smiled.

Rainy Day Thread Painting

Look what a simple zig-zag stitch can do:

So I wanted to do some thread painting today.  But the smallest wooden hoop I had at home, was a 14" monster wooden hoop.  Rats!  But then I thought, "I wonder if my Janome 8900 would take it?" (it has 11" to the right of the needle)  So I tried.  Results are above.

I have a long way to go to be another Picasso or Rembrandt, but it made for a very happy day.

Hoopsisters - Mariner's Compass

Marge recently purchased the Hoopsisters' Mariner's Compass and has brought it to the shop to stitch out on our new MC 15000.

If you want to see her progress, stop in the store over the next few days.  She has convinced me:  "this is really fun!"  (Now I can't wait for the Jacobean Journey Block of the Month to start in January!)

Great Group — Great 1st Meeting!

The Cañon City Modern Quilt Club officially kicked off on Monday night with a full house! 

Randi did a fabulous job discussing Modern Quilts, colors, fabrics, and projects.  Show and Tell is my favorite part of any meeting, and I am amazed at the talent we have in our area. Take a look below.

I sure hope not!  We've opened up the middle room to hold more fabric.
