The most challenging "time of the month"

Well, for me, the most challenging time of the month is this last week, organizing the new classes.  There is so much excitement and enthusiasm over the upcoming classes and events for March!

For the last several days, I've been asked "Do you have the March class list?"  "What is coming up in March?" 

So I spend hours behind the computer gathering all the information from the instructors, formatting the pictures, filling in the holes and bugging my poor teachers to death with emails after emails.  (sorry guys... I really DO try to be organized)

So when I'm in the home stretch and I can place everything on my class site ("a thread-aholic in Colorado"), I can almost take a breather.

The classes are (hopefully) listed in the sidebar to the right.  There are still a couple of classes that haven't made it there yet, but will soon... so keep checking.

February "Tie One On" Apron Club

Everyone braved the snowy evening to come sew this month's apron.

Kids' Camp Winter Break

The first day of Kids' Camp went great!  The girls made "buntings" to decorate their rooms and then started on their mini-quilts.

Today, they'll finish their quilts and make a doll apron.

Almonds, subs, chocolate, & paper piecing

Instructor Faith Wellman shows the ladies in today's Beginning Paper Piecing class the techniques for using freezer paper or foundation paper.

Faith taught the students how to make heart blocks using both the freezer paper and the foundation paper techniques, along with the benefits and disadvantages of both.

Bonny had brought everyone sub sandwiches and of course, I had the traditional chocolate ready for consumption.  Phyllis brought her famous almonds, so everyone was well fed.

Although the class started relatively calm, towards the end they were getting a little "wild 'n crazy".  All I did was ask them to smile....  Geez, I'll never do that again.

The "Place for Everything" Pouch Class

What a great class to take on a cold and snowy Monday afternoon! A new technique was taught on how to install a zipper without a zipper foot. The ladies were a blast to have in class.

 

So where was the coffee??

We all got so excited about the "It's a Wrap" class that we forgot about the "Coffee with Bonny"!  But all is well, a new technique was learned for making coasters, bowls, etc.  Bonny promised to have coffee next time!

The next "It's a Wrap Class" will be March 7th at 10:30am.

Intro to Thread Painting...just the beginning!

Tuesday night's Intro to Thread Painting Class was a blast!  The biggest issue was remembering to 'breathe'.  Once that was established as a necessary part of thread painting, the creativity began to flow.  Audra did a great job highlighting the fact that "there is no right way, there is no wrong way".

Great class!!
